Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 3-4 apples, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup apricot preserves
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
Before you start cooking, heat the oven to 375F 190C
Put some flour on a surface and roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle shape
Make strips of dough that are about 2 inches wide
Add the apple slices to a bowl and mix in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice
To soften, put the apple mixture in the microwave for two minutes
Spread the melted butter on each piece of dough
Place the apple slices so that they overlap a little on one edge of each strip
On top of the apples, fold the bottom half of the pastry over
Put each strip in a muffin tin that has been greased and roll it up into a rose shape
Put it in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the pastry is golden brown
Melt the apricot preserves and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over low heat
Add the glaze to the apple roses and brush it on
Before you serve, sprinkle with powdered sugar
