Hawaiian Turkey Burgers

These Hawaiian Turkey Burgers are a tropical twist on a classic favorite. The combination of ground turkey, sweet pineapple, and teriyaki sauce creates a flavorful and juicy patty that's perfect for a summer BBQ or any time you want a taste of paradise.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup pineapple chunks canned or fresh
  • 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced pineapple rings
  • Sliced red onion
  • Swiss cheese slices optional
  • Mayonnaise
  • Hamburger condiments ketchup, mustard, etc

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, pineapple chunks, diced red bell pepper, minced garlic, teriyaki sauce, salt, and black pepper

Mix the ingredients until well combined, but be careful not to overmix, as it can make the burgers tough

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties

Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat

If using an outdoor grill, oil the grates to prevent sticking

Grill the turkey burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks

If adding cheese, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last minute of grilling to melt

While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill until lightly browned

To assemble the burgers, spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun

Place a lettuce leaf on top of the mayonnaise, followed by the turkey burger with or without cheese

Add a slice of pineapple, red onion rings, and any desired hamburger condiments on top of the burger patty

Complete with the top half of the bun

Serve the Hawaiian turkey burgers hot and enjoy!
